•Head tilted, welcoming eye contact and smiling. Listen and speak in a calm voice tone. Remain in self control.
•Evasion - Hands Up, Palms Out
•“Get Back!”,
•“I don’t want to fight!”
•“Why can’t we resolve this peacefully?”
•Evasion Open Negative Questions
•“Why can’t we talk about this?”
•“Don’t you want to be peaceful?”
•Use these to trigger answers that will help any future defence of your self defence AND these answers may aggravate the crime AND increase your attackers penalty. Remember Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act 2021 (e.g. Age & Disability)
•“Why can’t you stop harassing me?”
•“Why can’t you stop restraining me?”
•“Why are you picking on an elderly person?”
•“Why are you picking on a disabled person?”
•Back off and attempt to leave. Walk quickly away – aware of following
•Run away – aware of following
•All this will assist in proving self defence and is part of self protection
•What happens if these fail …… look for imminent assault markers …. you are allowed to pre-emptively act.
